PFOA Exposure and PFOS Link to US Military worldwide bases

Over the last few years there has been much talk about PFOA Exposure and the PFOA facts!, i.e. exposure to Perfluorooctanoate or perfluorooctanoic acid or perfluorooctane sulfonate.  These PFOA chemicals are now being found in our blood.    More and more people are becoming aware of the dangers of using Teflon but still our Australian local retailers continue to offer Teflon coated cookware to their customers instead of offering them stainless steel.   Those of us in the know find it very difficult to purchase, for example, a fry pan.  Your government would also be aware!

Farmers dumping milk
Why?

CNN Politico on 22 August 2019 published this PFOA Exposure articleA New Mexico farmer is dumping 12,000 gallons of milk a day. Here's why.

In towns and cities across the United States, Americans' tap water is contaminated with so-called forever chemicals -- and some are forced to live off bottled water.

PFAS -- short for per- and polyfluoroalkyl chemicals -- are the man-made heat- and water-resistant chemicals used for decades to make everyday items like nonstick pans, food containers and fabric protectants. Studies have linked PFAS to kidney and liver cancer, thyroid problems, high cholesterol, birth defects and pregnancy complications. They're called "forever chemicals" because they don't easily break down in the environment or the human body.

Toxic Cookware polluting water for Millions

Dr Mercola in an article dated 24 August 2016 onToxic Cookware Chemicals Have Polluted Drinking Water for Millions” advises that:

  • PFASs — used to create non-stick, stain-resistant and water-repellant surfaces — are toxic and highly persistent, both in your body and in the environment and likely affecting your health
  • 16.5 million Americans have detectable levels of at least one kind of polyfluoroalkyl or perfluoroalkyl chemical (PFASs) in their drinking water
  • PFOA was an essential ingredient in DuPont’s Teflon cookware for decades. It’s also used in hundreds of other non-stick and stain-resistant products

DuPont found guilty of dumping cancer-causing Teflon Chemicals

NaturalNews dated 24 July 2016 reports on DuPont being found guilty of dumping cancer-causing Teflon chemicals into the Ohio River and the consequences of this dumping and PFOA exposure.  Click this link to read the article.

PFOA Teflon chemical has poisoned nearly the entire world!

Dramatic headlines!   But this is what NaturalNews on 13 May 2016 tell us PFOA exposure.    The article goes on to say:

“The chemical PFOA, formerly used in the manufacturing of DuPont's Teflon, has been found to have contaminated groundwater in many U.S. locations and throughout the world.

DuPont began phasing out the use of PFOA (also known as C8) in 2005, after it was revealed that the company had for decades covered up the numerous health risks associated with the chemical. This revelation led to a record $16.5 million fine being levied by the EPA, and a $300 million class-action lawsuit filed by residents living near a West Virginia DuPont factory, after being poisoned by the PFOA that contaminated the local water supply.

PFOA is part of a family of substances known as PFCs (perfluorinated chemicals).

Warning for Pregnant Women re BPA Exposure

NaturalNews on 3 May 2016 regarding the dangers of PFOA exposure in pregnant women and even young children.   The article goes on to say:

“As with all endocrine (hormone) disruptors, BPA poses the greatest risk to young children, and particularly to developing fetuses. That's because the hormones involved in fetal development act in incredibly tiny quantities, on the order of a tenth of a trillionth of a gram. As a hormone mimic, BPA has been shown to cause reproductive and developmental disorders in unborn children, particularly of the brain and prostate gland. The brain changes caused by BPA can lead to permanent behavioral changes.”

Things may be changing!

27 January 2016:  Dr Mercola has written an article on “How Chemical Defense Attorney blew the lid off PFOA and Telon Dangers  He quickly summarizes with the following points but to fully understand the deception by Dupont and the harm that has been caused to humans and the environment by PFOA exposure, Marilyn Vine suggests that you click the link above and take the time to read.   She believes that we are going to hear more about the Madrid Statement mentioned in the article and implications for the fluoridation industry as well.

  • PFOA was an essential ingredient in DuPont’s Teflon cookware for decades. It’s also used in hundreds of other non-stick and stain-resistant products. PFOA is now the subject of about 3,500 personal injury claims against DuPont
  • Poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) used to create non-stick, stain-resistant, and water-repellant surfaces are toxic and highly persistent, both in your body and in the environment
  • The Madrid Statement, signed by more than 200 scientists from 40 countries, presents the scientific consensus on the harms of PFAS chemicals, both old and new

Estimated 7 Million people drinking Teflon contaminated drinking water!

The Alternative Daily on 13 November 2015 brings information on Teflon contaminated drinking water"

In an endeavor to keep my body free from contamination, one of the products that I use is Body Shield which helps with the removal of heavy metals from the body.  Information on Body Shield:

“Contains organic fulvic acid, which is loaded with fulvates and trace minerals. The formula is also fortified with Limu Moui and kelp. Researchers believe that organic fulvic acid offers massive support for the body; they theorize that it promotes the healthy function of the body’s own natural processes that support detoxification, cellular cleansing, and nutrient uptake.* Scientists postulate that organic fulvic acid can, like a molecular train, transport nutrients in and take heavy metals out.* The fulvates in Body Shield are potent antioxidant super-scavengers.* In addition, the seaweed extracts support healthy thyroid and immune function!*

* These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.”

PFOA also known as C8

Dr Mercola on 21 October 2015 brings this extremely important YouTube to our attention.  His story at a glance says:

“PFOA, also known as C8, was an essential ingredient in DuPont’s non-stick cookware for decades. It’s also used in hundreds of other non-stick and stain-resistant products

PFOA is now the subject of about 3,500 personal injury claims against DuPont, including 37 claims for wrongful death

The first case brought led to conviction; DuPont is ordered to pay $1.6 million in damages to woman who contracted cancer from PFOA-contaminated drinking water “

BPA raises the blood pressure
IMMEDIATELY

GreenMedia on 26 May 2015 provides information on bisphenol A (PFOA exposure) raising a person’s blood pressure immediately.  That is a very scary thought to me especially for people whose blood pressure is way up to high in the first place.

The article says:  “most of us probably figure that drinking from a BPA-lined container won't do much immediate harm, right? Such a notion is shared by many, but unfortunately, it is wrong. Drinking from a BPA-lined container can cause immediate cardiovascular harm.”

I heard an Australian Health Minister speak on television several years ago and tell us that eating food from a white plastic lined can with PFOA exposure would not cause us any harm because the amount would be minimal.  At the time I thought he does not know how many other sources a person may be receiving BPA from and the amount in one can, could be a problem.      Now we are learning why!

Hormone Mimicking Chemicals

This PFOA Exposure page started on 13 February 2010 and here today, 5 June 2015, Prevent Disease are telling us that hormone-mimicking compounds still found in hundreds of brands of food.

In a survey of canned foods researchers found that more than 44 percent use bisphenol-A lined cans for some or all of their products.

I get incensed when I show in my local Woolworths supermarket and find that I can only buy “Select” (Woolworths Home Brand) products as I have found that many of these cans are lined with white plastic.  I just don’t buy the brand or the products.    If we all did that and the cans remained on the shelves then they would soon get the message.

Causing sperm count decline

NaturalNews on 26 February 2015 brings information on BPA and sperm count decline.  The article goes on to say:

“A recent study conducted by researchers from Washington State University substantiates earlier claims regarding the connection between endocrine mimickers, such as bisphenol A (BPA), and fertility complications in men and women, according to a report by the Press Association.

Hormone disruptors, found in a variety of sources, continue to pose a very real threat to humans as they alter the normal functioning of hormones, interfering with signaling processes that tell our tissues what to do.”

Harm to the male developing fetus

GreenMedia on 6 December 2014 brings information on new research.  The article says:

“An alarming new study establishes that the commonly used chemical bisphenol A used in tens of thousands of consumer products, and its lesser known but increasingly prevalent analogs, bisphenol S and F, are several orders of magnitude more disruptive to the endocrine systems of the developing male human fetus than previous toxicological risk assessments were capable of determining.”

Marilyn Vine’s personal thoughts and feelings with regards to BPA are quite strong.   I get very angry when I go into supermarkets like Woolworths and their own home brand Select has its cans lined with white plastic!

We have to get artificial fluoride compounds out of our water supplies so that people are not forced to buy water contained in plastic bottles or buy water from companies that provide the bulk water in those nice plastic containers you can find in doctor’s surgeries and the like.

Governments should ban Teflon and Teflon coated products and stop letting industry overrule good sense!

I could go on but most of the information on the harm of BPA or the now new BPS which I understand is even more harmful is already contained in this page.    Please read the information as it may just save your life.

PFOA Exposure and Cash Register Receipts

What I can hear you say!  Cash Register Receipts!     Well I think you should click this link and learn how just handling a cash register receipt for a mere 2 seconds can impact your absorption of BPA.   If you care about your health you will take the time to read the article and learn how it can impact on:

  • Infertility
  • Thyroid disease
  • Cancer
  • Immune system problems
  • Increased LDL cholesterol levels.

Risk of eating canned foods

On 15 September 2014 Prevent Disease advised that there is a 1,000 fold increase in toxic exposure when using canned products!   Several years ago on our television we had the Minister of Health telling us that the white lining in canned foods was causing absolute minimal harm and that we should not even be concerned about this!   Now look what has emerged.  Please click this link to read the article.

Do you know what BPS is?

NaturalNews on 20 October 2013 draws out attention to the fact that many manufacturers have stopped using the toxic Bisphenol A (BPA) it has been found that this has now been substituted by bisphenol S (BPS), a potentially more deadly plastics chemical, in many BPA-free products, including children's products.

The article goes onto say:

But an even bigger issue than BPA is its replacement, BPS, a chemical that was found in a recent study to have a significantly higher uptake in skin compared to BPA. Published in the journal Environmental Science & Technology, the first ever study on BPS' toxicity verified not only that the chemical is widely used, even in BPA-free products, but that it is also significantly more toxic because of its incredible absorption rate.”

Arthritis and Teflon

On 27 February 2013 NaturalNews published an article regarding a study undertaken by researchers from Yale University, Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and published in Environmental Health Perspectives.

The study found:

We found that PFOA and PFOS exposures are associated with higher prevalence of osteoarthritis, particularly in women, a group that is disproportionately impacted by this chronic disease," researcher Sarah Uhl said

Now 22 August 2012 and still it continues!

Mike Adams from NaturalNews brings yet another story on Dupont and their Teflon products containing PFOA!   When will the American Government actually step in and put an end to this?   How many lives will be affected before the truth is finally known by everyone and not just a few individuals who follow health information?  Read the latest.

Kidney and testicular cancer

On 26 April 2012 NaturalNews brings information on an independent scientific panel who has determined that PFOA exposure, which is also known as C-8, a commercial substance produced by chemical giant DuPont, causes kidney and testicular cancer in humans.

When are world governments going to start acting in the interests and safety of their people and start doing their jobs by telling companies like DuPont to clean up their act or get out of business?

Non-Stick Cookware Continues to Prove its Toxicity

Evidence once again has emerged regarding the dangers of  PFOA

(Perflurooctanoic Acid).  This is used in the production of non-stick cookware and stain-resistant snack food packaging. They are finding PFOA in the bloodstream of 95% of American men, women, and children, this is the PFOA Exposure and the PFOA facts!.

Environmental Protection Agency

The Environmental Protection Agency has been given the ability to either accept or reject the decision of the Scientific Advisors to the EPA.   The Scientific Advisors have voted in favour of a recommendation that perfluorooctanoic acid, PFOA, should be considered a carcinogen

PFOA Workers

People involved in manufacturing PFOA have the possibility of a three times higher likelihood of dying of prostate cancer than people not involved in its manufacture.  Read the article for further information and the deception.

How are PFOA and PFOS affecting your children?

Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoate acids (PFOA) are often used in the manufacture of non-stick cookware, carpets, food wrappers, clothing and electrical equipment.  Read the link below how PFOA exposure is affecting our children.
