Improve the health of your hair – wouldn’t we all like to do that?
WOW – I have just come across some new information on Why Your Hair Turns Gray! I am sure we would all like to know that. My own hair has been white for sometime and as a result of the supplementation that I use I have many black hairs appearing underneath the white. I find this a bit strange as my hair was never black in colour to start with but a light brown. I have learned that there are two kinds of melanin involved with the colour of your hair. Eumelanin is responsible for brown to black and pheomelanin from yellow-blonde to red.
Below is an article that you may find of interest as this goes into more detail. It also talks about adult stem cells helping you to keep a full head of healthy hair in its original colour. Why your hair turns gray

How does hair grow? The hair bulb is a cluster of dividing epidermal cells that surround a ball of connective tissue, blood vessels and nerve fibres which are called the papilla. Hair growth occurs through the hair bulb dividing at the bottom and pushing the cells towards the surface of your scalp. On their way to the top they die and turn into a protein called keratin. When your hair has projected out from the hair follicle it is completely keratinised and lifeless.
Many of the shampoos on the supermarket shelves and even in the chemist shops and health food stores contain sodium lauryl sulfate. It is known that sodium lauryl sulfate from shampoo can cause cataracts. Did you know that it doesn’t actually have to come into contact with the eye to do this? The reason for this is that it readily penetrates the skin and travels to the eyes and other organs of the body. When used in shampoo and conditioners or other hair products and has been rinsed off it is known, over time, to strip the hair of acids, amino acids and moisture. I believe that other manufacturers use this ingredient combined with salt as it makes a wonderful lather and when this occurs people think they have a good shampoo! Sometimes less lather is better! It is also listed as having teratogenic properties, i.e. an agent or influence that causes physical defects in the developing embryo. After reading this information I doubt that you will agree that these shampoos will improve the health of your hair!

When we have children, particularly kindergarten and school age, we come into contact from time to time with lice or as they are commonly referred to – nits. Would you like a safe way to rid your child’s hair of lice or nits?
Try using the Moisturising Conditioners provided by these companies. Cover the hair with the conditioner, wrap the head in plastic food wrap and leave for 20-30 minutes and then comb through with a lice or nit comb to help remove the dead animals and any eggs that may be present. Then rinse the hair. The effect of covering the hair with the conditioner is that it smothers the lice or nits. You may have to repeat in a few days time if you feel that there are still eggs present. In the meantime you have given the hair a wonderful conditioning treatment which cannot help but improve the health of your hair!
